The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) solidified the unity between DOST-NEUST-BAUERTEK CORP. for the project “Research and Development for Production and Processing of Herbal Supplements.” The MOA was signed by NEUST President Dr. Feliciana P. Jacoba, BauerTek President Rigel Gomez, BauerTek General Manager Richard Nixon Gomez, and DOST Regional Director Jaycee Sicat.
The project aims to establish a prototype demo farm for the production of moringa (malunggay) and other medicinal plants at the NEUST-Gabaldon Campus. With its favorable location and climate, the cultivation and maintenance of moringa and turmeric raw materials will meet BauerTek’s needs for producing herbal food supplements. On the other hand, DOST, through Dr. Sicat, will provide the necessary equipment for the progress of the said project.
According to President Rigel Gomez, one of BauerTek’s goals is to combat diseases that continue to threaten our country, such as cancer. Through proper care, research, and development of plants that are essential ingredients in making herbal food supplements, these diseases can gradually be fought.
Through this project, local farmers will have additional livelihood opportunities.

Pinagtibay ng Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) ang pagkakaisa ng DOST-NEUST-BAUERTEK CORP. para sa proyektong “Research and Development for Production and Processing of Herbal Supplements”. Nilagdaan ang MOA nina NEUST President Dr. Feliciana P. Jacoba, BauerTek Farmaceutical Technologies Corp.President Rigel Gomez, BauerTek General Manager Richard Nixon Gomez, at DOST Regional Director Jaycee Sicat.
Ang nasabing proyekto ay kinonsepto upang magtatag ng isang proto-type demo farm para sa produksyon ng moringa (malunggay) at iba pang halamang-gamot sa NEUST-Gabaldon Campus. Sa magandang lokasyon at klima nito, magiging angkop ang pagtatanim at pananatili ng mga raw material ng moringa at turmeric na matutugunan ang pangangailangan ng BauerTek para sa produksyon ng mga herbal food supplements. Sa kabilang banda, ang DOST sa pamamagitan ni Dr. Sicat ay magbibigay ng kinakailangan na kagamitan para sa progreso ng nasabing proyekto.
Ayon kay President Rigel Gomez, isa sa layunin ng BauerTek ay pugsain ang mga karamdamang patuloy na nagbabanta sa ating bansa tulad ng kanser. Sa pamamagitan ng tamang pangangalaga, pananaliksik at pagpapaunlad sa mga halaman na pangunahing sangkap sa paggawa ng herbal food supplements, ito ay unti-unting malalabanan.
Sa pamamagitan ng proyektong ito, magkakaroon ng karagdagang hanapbuhay ang mga lokal na magsasaka.
